and Fawnskin hug the shores of a seven mile alpine
lake. These unique small-town communities provide food,
lodging and entertainment for thousands of visitors
annually.
Getting
back to nature, camping in
the woods, off road
driving, family hiking and picnicking are on one end
of the spectrum of possibilities for exploring the
Valley. At the other end are luxury hotels, gourmet
dining and professional theatre productions.
Pick and choose from the wide variety of options the
area has to offer and tailor a personal retreat. Come
up for the day or stay a month. Spend your time shopping
in specialty gift shops, treat yourself to the services
of a local spa or hide in the forest and never see
the inside of a building. It is all possible up here.

road conditions means vehicles with 4 wheel drive are
okay, all others must chain up. Remember all vehicles
must carry chains during the winter months. You may
also want to carry extra supplies with you in case
you get stranded. Extra clothing, some food and a candle
can be helpful. Drive carefully, use your signals,
